Getting started kart racing

A coworker asked me what options we've got in the Lexington area for doing roadrace style gokart racing.  I specify roadrace style, in opposition to oval courses, and on pavement.  In my little bit of research so far, I've found that kart races distinguish road racing as fast ass karts on big tracks.  I think what we're looking for a little more is sprint racing.  This is done on tight asphault kart tracks.

So, in my searching for places to race, I've come across two tracks that are semi-close: New Castle Motorsports Park, in New Castle, IN, and Circleville Raceway Park, in Circleville, OH

I also found this site that has a list of all types of kart races across the country.
